Sorry 'bout not updating for so long but it's just that I've been soooo busy, so I just posted this part of my upd8 real quick for you. I hope it isn't TOO boring!! BUMPPPPP IT!!




Chapter 15 ~Compassion~





She walked closer towards me and I gestured to her to sit down in the chair in front of me. She did as she was told and sat down. There was silence for a while, I looked down at some of the paper work on my desk, I felt like I was being watched, so I looked up at her and she looked away. “Erm, is there some kind of problem?” I asked her, trying my hardest not to give any attitude. She looked down at her lap and then looked back up at me. “Well, it’s just that I really need a job, because I can’t take it anymore.” She said as her eyes welled up with tears.


I felt a lot of sympathy for her so I reached out to the box of tissues on my desk and gave a ply to her. She gladly took it and said “thank you”. I nodded my head and softly whispered “you’re welcome”. We sat there in silence for a while, well relatively silence apart from the fact that she was constantly sniffing and softly sobbing. “Are you by any chance, Gloria Mitchell?” I said hoping she would say yes. “Yes.” Gloria said, then she finally stopped sniffing and wiping away her tears. Her eyes looked red and puffy, I still don’t know why she was crying but it must be something really hurtful. I don’t want to ask her unless she wants to tell me herself.


“Well, my sister Alishia told me about you. Although what she said wasn’t positive. She told me that you’re Carnell’s ‘needy’ cousin. Any by that I mean, a erm- a prostitute.” I said hoping I hadn’t hurt her feelings. Gloria sat there in silence with her head down. She looked back up at me and just shook her head. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, and then she closed her mouth again. I guess I shouldn’t have said that to her.


“Look; Miss Gomez, I’m not Carnell’s cousin. I’m his girlfriend- well at least I thought I was.” Gloria said, mumbling the last part. Her eyes were fixated on the picture of Patrick and I on my desk. She smiled and then looked down at her fingers. “Is there something wrong?” She looked back up at me and shook her head. Gloria then sighed and looked around the office. She fidgeted for a while until she finally decided to respond to my question.


“It’s just that, I remember when Carnell and I were happy like that. Until everything changed, he became so possessive of me and wouldn’t even let me hang out with my best friend Dustin, which is Carnell’s older brother. Eventually, Carnell made me become a stripper and said that in order for me to live with him; I had to earn my keep. So I did as I was told because I thought it was his way of loving me but I guess I was wrong.” Gloria paused and sobbed periodically. I never knew Carnell was like that, I guess looks really CAN be deceiving.


“Gloria, if you need a place to stay, you can stay at my old apartment. You can use your pay from your job here to pay for rent and for now since you haven’t gotten your first pay check yet. I’ll pay for your expenses for about a month and then you can pay me back next month. Deal?” I said, hoping she would except my offer, and if she didn’t…well that’s her loss. She sat there in silence for a while and then I saw a big smile spreading across her face. “Thank you soooooooo much.” Gloria got up and she walked around my desk and hugged me. “Your welcome.” We talked some more about her past and also about Alishia and Tyrese and my relationship with Patrick.




Just as we were getting into the conversation, Jen intercomed me and told me that I have a visitor. “Miss Gomez, you have a Mr Breeding here waiting to see you.” I responded by saying “Sure, send him up.” It’s probably Patrick….right?

Chapter 16 ~New Arrival~






I lifted my right index finger off the intercom button and looked at Gloria. She looked a little more relieved after I told her she could have a place to stay. I must say it feels good to do something nice for someone. I relaxed in my chair and laid my head back; waiting for whichever Mr Breeding it was that was coming to see me. Just as I closed my eyes I heard a knock on the door. “Come in.” Whoever it was then opened the door and stepped in. I sat up in my chair and leaned on my desk with my elbows propping me up.



“Hey Janice, what’s up?” The voice sounded familiar, like that of a cetain annoying little brat. It can't be him....there he was, Bryan Breeding, I haven’t seen him in a long time and of all times he decides to show up now. “Bryan, so you finally decide to crawl up from under your little rock you’ve been hiding under all these years?” At that moment, I was so angry for some reason, I stood up and put my hands on my hips, and then I folded my arms and raised my left eyebrow at him. Bryan chuckled and shook his head; he rubbed the back of his neck with his right hand. “Oh man, come on Janice, can’t you just say hi to an old friend like a normal person.” He walked closer to me, placed his hands on my desk, and leaned in. I felt like slapping him, he just knows how to push my buttons.


I guess the tension of the situation was getting to Gloria so she spoke up and said “Erm, I think I’m gonna go now, but thanks for the help Janice.” Gloria stood up and put her handbag on her right shoulder. As she walked away from her seat, she bumped into Bryan and he smiled. Gloria looked a little embarrassed and blushed slightly. “Whoa, I didn’t even see you sitting there beautiful, my name’s Bryan, nice to meet you.” Bryan grabbed her right hand and kissed it. Yuck, if I were her, I’d put some alcohol rub on there to get his nasty germs off me. “Look airhead, she isn’t just some girl you can step to, she’s Carnell’s girlfriend. Now you’d know this if you stuck around, instead of leaving and going to live with your Mom.” I said with emphasis on the word ‘airhead’, I don’t know who Bryan thinks he is but I had to set him straight.


“Oh my bad shawty, well I guess we’ll have to stay as just friends….so what’s your name?” Bryan seems like he likes Gloria, nah maybe I’m just over analysing the situation. “My name’s Gloria, Gloria Mitchell.” Gloria extended her hand and Bryan shook it, they both smiled at each other. Ugh this is making me sick. “Gloria, I’ll see you later ok, wait for me downstairs at the lobby, I’ll be there soon.” I sat back down in my chair and flicked my hand to signal for them to leave. “A beautiful lady like this shouldn’t be left alone. How about I take you out a little, for a ride in my car and I’ll bring you back in time to meet gremlin over here, I mean Janice.” Bryan laughed and gestured for Gloria to take his hand. She did so and they made their way towards the door. Finally I can have some peace, honestly I would’ve preferred for it to be Patrick but I guess in this world you can’t always get what you want, and Bryan is definitely on the bottom of my list of what I want. I hate that little brat.









The next p.o.v will be Bryan's and the one after that will be Dustin's then Alishia's. I hope you like the upd8 I just did tho. I know the update isn't as long as I would've liked it to be but I decided to post this first and I'll do another one tomorrow, if it's not too much of a hassle, could you update your story 'Cherry Pie' coz I REALLY liked it a lot.
